sometimes a moon
a snake on my head,
a leaf from reaping
a leaf from falling

are fingers in the moonrise
and sun-veins; i cannot
believe in god after all the
things I’ve done,

each oceanid claw
reaches me so I drown

  1. It is hard to see love as possible after deep despair.
But it shouldn’t be. Claws will try to grab you.
Claws want to rip you apart.
But they won’t, they can’t forever.
Either you learn to breath under water or swim.

And then the waves may embrace you with kindness
or in a play, to cheer you up,
not destroy and worry you, nor the cold ice of pain.
An iceberg molten without a catastrophy.
An iceberg gone for good, nor harm, only water.
