Found this in my drafts for a long prose piece I’ve since abandoned. Funny, how looking back, I didn’t see much to it until I recently changed the final line.

Love the first line. I wish I would have written it. It is a very nice haiku.

I am a strong supporter of short little poems. They’re like little messages we write on a scrap of paper, and hide away in our pocket, leave in the pages of a book, or simply toss into the careless breeze. They’re so light, but carry such depth of meaning. You might have written twenty beautiful lines after this, but I’ll be happy to tell you that these three alone caught my heart without any further trouble.
